ตลอดสองถึงสามปีที่ผ่านมา ทุกภาคส่วนประสบความยากลำบากในการทำงาน ในการประกอบธุรกิจแม้กระทั่งในการดำเนินชีวิต เนื่องจากมีการแพร่ระบาดของโรคติดเชื้อไวรัสโคโรนา 2019 แต่ในวิกฤติเช่นนี้ เราได้เห็นแล้วว่าวิทยาศาสตร์ วิจัยและนวัตกรรม เป็นสิ่งสำคัญที่ช่วยให้เราทุกคนสามารถก้าวข้ามความยากลำบากมาได้

ผมขอชื่นชมสำนักงานนวัตกรรมแห่งชาติ (องค์การมหาชน) หรือ สนช. ในการทำหน้าที่อย่างแข็งขันตลอดมาในการสนับสนุนและส่งเสริมให้คนไทย นวัตกรไทย มีโอกาสเจริญเติบโตขึ้นและหลายท่านก็ได้ก้าวเข้าสู่เวทีโลกอย่างสง่างามแล้ว และในส่วนประชาชนทั่วไป ผมก็ยังอยากเห็นว่าคนไทยทุกคนจะมีวัฒนธรรมใหม่คือวัฒนธรรมที่ชอบที่จะเป็นผู้สร้าง ผู้คิด ผู้ริเริ่ม และเป็นผู้นำการเปลี่ยนแปลง หรือมีความเป็นนวัตกรให้มากขึ้น แทนที่จะเป็นผู้ใช้ ผู้บริโภค หรือผู้ที่จะรอรับการเปลี่ยนแปลงแต่เพียงอย่างเดียว ซึ่งในส่วนนี้หนังสือเล่มนี้คงจะสามารถจุดประกายแรงบันดาลใจให้กับท่านได้บ้างไม่มากก็น้อย

ผมเชื่อว่าสถานการณ์ในปีที่ผ่านมาได้มอบเวลาที่มีค่า เป็นเวลาที่เราจะได้มีโอกาสทบทวน เพื่อเตรียมใจเตรียมตัว เพื่อเตรียมพร้อมรับมือกับวิกฤตต่าง ๆ ที่จะมีมากขึ้น และจะย้อนกลับมาอยู่เรื่อย ๆ โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งเมื่อสภาวะแวดล้อมของโลกกำลังเปลี่ยนแปลงไป สร้างการเปลี่ยนแปลงอย่างใหญ่หลวงต่อทุกชีวิตบนโลกใบนี้ไม่ว่าจะเป็นคน สัตว์ หรือพืช และเมื่อทรัพยากรลดน้อยลง การจัดสรรทรัพยากรไม่ทั่วถึง เกิดความเหลื่อมล้ำในสังคม เกิดการเลือกปฏิบัติ เกิดความรู้สึกไม่เป็นธรรมมากขึ้น ๆ คนไทยจะต้องหาวิธีการที่เหมาะสมกับพวกเรา วิธีการที่จะทำให้ปัญหาต่าง ๆ ทั้งปัญหาสิ่งแวดล้อม ปัญหาสังคม และปัญหาเศรษฐกิจของไทยบรรเทาหรือคลี่คลายไปได้ในรูปแบบที่ยั่งยืนและยืดหยุ่น

ผมขอชื่นชมคนไทยทุกคน ทั้งที่ปรากฏอยู่ในหนังสือเล่มนี้และที่ไม่ได้ปรากฏ ซึ่งได้เป็นแรงบันดาลใจให้แก่กันและกัน ร่วมมือกันอย่างพร้อมเพรียงในการเปลี่ยนแปลงการทำงาน เปลี่ยนแปลงรูปแบบการใช้ชีวิตเพื่อการพัฒนางานและพัฒนาตน ให้สอดคล้องกับสภาวการณ์ของโลกที่กำลังเปลี่ยนแปลงไปในทุกมิติ ขอให้เราทุกคนมองเห็นสิ่งต่าง ๆ เป็นโอกาส แล้วเริ่มต้นเปลี่ยนแปลงที่ตัวเอง ไม่ว่าท่านจะเป็นประชาชนตัวเล็ก ๆ หรือว่าท่านจะเป็นผู้บริหารหรือผู้นำระดับสูง จากจุดเริ่มต้นเล็ก ๆ ที่เรียกว่า การเริ่มต้นที่ตัวเรา แต่เมื่อคนไทยรวมพลังกันก็จะส่งผลเป็นการเปลี่ยนแปลงที่ยิ่งใหญ่และยั่งยืน

Over the past two to three years, every sector has encountered difficult times in working on business operations and even living their lives due to the spread of the novel corona 2019. Despite these difficulties, we have seen that science, research, and innovation significantly helped us to be able to overcome these difficulties.

I would like to appreciate the National Innovation Agency (Public Organization) or NIA for always working diligently in supporting and promoting, Thai innovators to have a chance to grow and many people have beautifully grown at the global level. For the general public, I still would like to see every single one of Thais have an innovator mindset and a passion to be creators, thinkers, pioneers, and change agents or innovators instead of being sorely users, consumers, or change receivers. I hope this book might be able to more or less inspire you.

I believe that the situations in the previous years have provided valuable time; it is time for us to have a chance to reconsider, prepare, and get ready for various crises that will be increasing and will return repeatedly. Particularly, when the global situation is changing, this change creates the greatest changes to every being in the world including humans, animals, and plants. And when there are fewer resources, resource allocation is not
sufficient causing even more inequality, discrimination, and unfairness in society. Thai people need to find appropriate ways for themselves to resolve various issues including environmental issues, social issues, and economic issues, or mitigate or ease up those issues in sustainable and flexible ways.

I would like to show my appreciation for all Thais both covered or not covered by this book for being a source of inspiration for one another, cooperating in harmony to change the way they work, change their lifestyles to develop their work as well as develop themselves following the global situation that has been changing in every aspect. I would like all of us to think of it as an opportunity and then start to change ourselves no matter if we are ordinary people, executive or superior leaders. Let’s start with a small step that’s called start from yourself. Eventually, when Thais unite, this will lead to a great and sustainable change.
